Rayid® is a unique and original body of knowledge, founded by Denny Johnson. It is derived from no other system, no other conceptual framework, and no other technique.
Rayid provides a powerful tool for understanding personality and relationship patterns, and the influence of ancestors and family-tree dynamics on health, happiness, and well-being.
Since its inception in 1978, the work of Rayid has steadily grown and evolved. In the beginning, Rayid was focused on the iris of the eye. At that time it was called the Rayid Method of Iris Interpretation. Currently, there are four distinct and interrelated components of the Rayid Model®: Rayid Iris, Rayid Birth Order, Rayid Grandparents, and Rayid Family-Tree Dynamics.
Rayid Iris offers a unique way of assessing patterns in the iris. The iris is recognized as a beautiful and intricate blueprint of one’s personality. As a genetic map, the iris reveals detailed information about patterns you have inherited from your family and how you communicate, relate, and behave. Rayid Birth Order recognizes 12 distinct birth order (sibling sequence) positions in the family tree. Each position correlates with unique qualities and talents that evolve the family. The more you understand children, the more effectively you are able to nurture them, support their creativity, and honor their needs.
Rayid Grandparents recognizes the importance of ancestors in the family tree. There are 12 distinctive ancestors (grandparents and great-grandparents) in the Rayid Model. Each corresponds with “universal qualities” that are handed down to subsequent generations of children. These qualities relate to the special gifts that grandparents and great-grandparents infuse the family tree with. Whether these 12 ancestors are alive or not, their gifts and influence are ever-present. Their hereditary love is the golden treasure of the family tree. With awareness and practice, it is possible to bring the universal qualities of grandparents more strongly into your body and being. In doing so, you enhance your own vital health and well-being, and that of your family.
Rayid Family Tree recognizes the important interconnectedness of 7 generations in the family tree: your own, the three previous (parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents), and the three subsequent generations (children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren). Our words and actions and what we place our time, attention, and efforts on today – have the potential to influence future generations of children in powerful ways. The Rayid Model of Iris, Birth Order, and Family Tree Dynamics is often simply called Rayid or the Rayid Model.
The founder of Rayid is Denny Johnson. The Rayid Model® is an original paradigm that evolved from inspiration and insight in the 1970s. Decades of application and qualitative research have confirmed its accuracy.
Is Rayid Iris Interpretation the same as Iridology?
No. The root of this misunderstanding dates back to the earliest days of Rayid, when it was focused on the iris.
“Iridology” is a method of examining the iris and the other parts of the eye, in order to diagnose anatomical and/or physiological health conditions, problems or weaknesses. Iridologists and other alternative practitioners use this method to prescribe dietary changes, colon cleanses, and other types of treatments.
Rayid Iris Interpretation is very different than iridology. Denny Johnson, the founder of Rayid®, is not an iridologist. He is an explorer, researcher, writer, and teacher of human personality and behavior, and of family tree dynamics. Denny is also an organic farmer in the mountains of Southwest Colorado.
Rayid Iris Interpretation identifies 4 constitutional iris structures/patterns (“Jewel”, “Flower”, “Stream”, and “Shaker”), as well as their distinctive markings in the iris, their corresponding personality traits and characteristics, and their patterns of behaving, communicating, and relating.

Rayid Iris also identifies other inherited iris markings and their implications. By understanding the iris in this way, you experience powerful opportunities for personal growth and learning, and for enhancing your own health, happiness, and well-being. It is with good reason this portion of the Rayid Model® is called “Rayid Iris Interpretation”. It is a tool for interpreting personality and related patterns. It is not a tool of clinical analysis or diagnosis.

Is it okay to use only the Rayid Iris portion of the Rayid Model?
Certainly, you will derive important benefits and insights from utilizing Rayid Iris Interpretation. It is a good place to start. However, using only one component of the Rayid Model®, provides an incomplete and more superficial experience of Rayid, and of understanding human personality and behavior. It is like driving a car on one wheel instead of all four.
I recently saw a “behavioral iridology” course that has iris photos with corresponding personality information and descriptions that are very similar to your book, “What the Eye Reveals”. The names of the iris types were different, but it looked a lot like Rayid. Help?
Examine closely any course, book, materials or products on subjects like “behavioral iridology”, “personality iridology”, “emotional iridology”, “personality and the eye”, and so on. Rayid® is a unique and original body of knowledge that is copyright and trademark protected. Before the Rayid Model and, in particular, Rayid Iris Interpretation was introduced in the 1970s, there was NOTHING in the field of “iridology” that had anything to do with corresponding structural configurations in the iris with personality characteristics, communication styles, relationship patterns and behavioral traits. Corresponding personality and other related patterns with specific markings in the iris and/or specific birth order positions in the family tree, is original work by Denny Johnson. Any reproduction, modification or alteration of Rayid information or materials, without legal permission, is a violation of copyright and trademark law. Any variation of the Rayid Model by someone else is a distortion and misrepresentation of Rayid. To learn the authentic teachings of Rayid, contact our office.
Fraud Alert: Some of the “behavioral iridology” (behavioural iridology) information presented by Jim Verghis on his websites, in his correspondence courses and materials, etc. infringes on Denny Johnson’s original work: Rayid Iris Interpretation. Some of the ideas, depictions of iris structure, and especially information corresponding iris structure with personality types, behavioral traits, etc. presented by Jim Verghis, Iris Mates, and Netera Publishing, infringes on Rayid International copyright and trademark rights. As stated in the above paragraph, prior to Denny Johnson’s original and groundbreaking work of Rayid Iris Interpretation in the late 1970s and early 1980s, nothing existed in the field of iridology that corresponded personality characteristics, communication styles, behavioral patterns, etc. with iris structure. The home page on Verghis’s website and his correspondence course identifies 2 main iris types. One he calls the “Thinking Type Iris/Mind Oriented”, the other he calls the “Emotional Type Iris/Feeling Oriented”. These infringe on “Jewel/Mental Type” and “Flower/Feeling Type” iris information identified in Rayid Iris Interpretation. In his correspondence course, Verghis identifies two additional iris structures that he calls the “Empathic” and “Driven Thinker” types. These infringe on “Stream” and “Shaker” iris information in Rayid Iris Interpretation. The iris wall chart Verghis offers infringes on Rayid information about the position of traits (jewels, flowers, and streams) in the iris, depicted in our book, What the Eye Reveals, and elsewhere. These are but a few examples. Verghis presents “behavioral iridology” as though it is original information that he pioneered. On his website, Verghis identifies himself as having 20+ years of experience as a “behavioral iridologist”. In truth, he was a Rayid student and practitioner for almost 20 years, beginning around 1985. People worldwide can attest to this. By definition, plagiarism is the act of taking ideas, information, writings, etc. from another and presenting them as one’s own. Taking any of Denny Johnson’s original Rayid information and renaming it, repackaging it, and/or representing it as one’s own, is an infringement of copyright and trademark rights.
How can I be sure I am receiving authentic information?
Unfortunately, there are individuals who study a subject matter, and then decide to alter it in some way and present it as their own. Sadly, this is quite common nowadays. So, be an educated consumer. If it looks like Rayid and sounds like Rayid, but is called something else, be suspicious. If it is called Rayid, but is taught by someone not listed on our website as a recognized Rayid teacher or practitioner, be suspicious. Contact our office with any questions you have. If you are new to a subject area, find out who the founder is of the work you are planning to study. Do an online search of key words and see where it leads you.
Where can I find a Rayid teacher?
The office of Rayid International and Unitree Foundation in the United States maintains the only accurate list of Rayid® teachers and practitioners worldwide. Many people have incorporated aspects of Rayid into their personal life and/or professional practice. However, to be a “Rayid Teacher” or “Rayid Practitioner” requires the completion of specific requirements, and endorsement by the Board of Directors of Unitree Foundation.
Do you offer Rayid certification?
There was a time when Rayid teachers, practitioners, and “masters” were certified through Rayid International. Rayid certification was discontinued years ago and is no longer valid. Now, instead of certification, there are 3 levels of Rayid® credentials (formal recognition) offered by the Board of Directors of Unitree Foundation: Rayid Ambassador (Amb), Rayid Teacher (RT), and Rayid Practitioner (RP). Are there other locations or websites affiliated with Rayid in other countries?
There was a time when locations outside of the United States (i.e., Holland, Spain, Sweden, etc.) were recognized by Denny Johnson as offering affiliated Rayid programs. Those associations ended years ago, and no longer exist. Any Rayid or Rayid-related information, programs, products, credentialing, or websites – other than those offered by, or approved by, Unitree Foundation and Rayid International in the United States – are invalid sources and representations of Rayid®. “Rayid” is copyright and trademark protected. Any other website using the word “Rayid” in its name, in any form, is in violation of the law. This is the only official site worldwide for Rayid International, Unitree Foundation, Global Gratitude, the teachings of the Rayid Model, and all Rayid-related information, programs, products, credentialing, etc. If you have any questions, contact our office.
What is the relationship between Unitree Foundation and Rayid International?
Unitree Foundation is a nonprofit visionary organization. It serves as a beacon of light for change in the world and is the spiritual foundation of Rayid International. Unitree Foundation, Rayid International, and Global Gratitude were founded by Denny Johnson. For additional information, go to the home page of our website.
Global Gratitude was developed by Denny Johnson. It is a special program offered free through Unitree Foundation. It is focused on increasing feelings of love for ancestors in your family tree, and passing this on to your children and future generations. Do I have to be a professional to use Rayid?
No. The Rayid Model® has been taught in many countries since the 1970s, and is used by parents, grandparents, counselors, teachers, health practitioners, business people, and many others.
How can understanding Rayid help me?
An understanding of the Rayid Model® allows you to more fully understand yourself and others, and to relate better with people. Rayid increases your awareness and makes it easier to overcome negative issues from the past as well as recurring patterns. By understanding the Rayid Model, you enhance your own potential and you are able to help others to do the same.
Can Rayid help me with my relationships?
Yes! Rayid® will enable you to more fully understand your innate talents and gifts, and that of others. It will also shed light on important life-lessons that help you grow and evolve. Relationships are a natural part of the journey of personal discovery and evolution. Through the Rayid Model®, you learn about the relationships you are most strongly attracted to and why. You will also learn how to be in healthier relationships that support personal development for all parties – and that enhance the evolution of your family.
